Friday September 14th, on Bodies of Water’s latest tour with Karl Blau they were supposed to have a stop in Santa Cruz, CA, but due to an unexpected cancellation they had to try and find a quick alternative. In comes a Santa Cruz local named Stanley who coerced his mother into letting the band play and stay the night at their home on Elm St., next door to Cafe Pergolesi. I was in attendance with camera in hand to document the first house show I had been to since high school. The band played to an audience of up to 15 fans who were drinking and dancing the night away during their hour long set, which included several new songs, two of which we featured here. The track titles for the new songs are “Water Here”, “Peach & Grey” and “Stoney …”, I forget the last part to the third name, but these are working titles for songs the band has been trying out on the road during this short tour. It was an amazing show, which left my ears still ringing in the morning.
