As a feature on the site, I will be dredging my own personal archive of taped shows to showcase rare or otherwise unheard performances from artists I love.

What started as a typical mid-summer’s evening in San Francisco, warm weather quickly shut out by fast moving clouds and wind, I found myself and maybe 40 others in attendance that night at Cafe du Nord to catch David Bazan do live versions of his then new side project, Headphones. Having just released the album a month prior to the show, they were on tour with another Seattle band, The Crystal Skulls, fronted by now Fleet Foxes member, Christian Wargo.
