No Age @ The Great American Music Hall - 2008.07.28

MP3: No Age - “Eraser” from Nouns
The chaotically melodic duo of No Age brought their brand of indie rock influenced punk rock to the stage of the Great American Music Hall the other night, just a couple months after opening at the same venue for Battles. What some might expect from the group due to their recent MTV music video, is quickly thrown out the window as soon as the two strike up their first chords and put their all into noisy yet deliberate notes blasted out from their PAs.

The band’s mix of sampling and raw instrumental power allow the duo to create an incredible wall of sound not only on their album, but it’s something they put their intensity into 110% for the live shows and is immediately received by the audience and given back ten fold. Being up front and center at a No Age show reminds you why you go out to a show on a Monday night and makes you fall in love with live music all over again.
