Last week Okkervil River and Damien Jurado (look for his set in the coming weeks) made their way to San Francisco and played an amazing set at The Independent (which has become one of my favorite venues). I remember hanging out during the sound-check and The Indie looked completely different in daylight. With the floor and the stage looking half the size it feels at night. Then the walls covered with scratches with a faded maroon brown type color tint, but regardless! At night The Indie is a beast and the sound and sight from one side of the room to the other is always great. I’m really glad this place opened up two or three years ago and they’ll be bringing a lot great bands this winter, it’ll be a lot of fun.Going back to the show, We’ll be posting up mp3s (as well as a new rendition Will Sheff wrote for their performance on Conan O’ Brien that they never got a chance to play), photos as well as more movies from the show. So stay tune, but for now enjoy these little numbers from Okkervil River.
